How to save a zero value stocktake and archive a stock location
Introduction
If a user no longer wants to use a specific stock location, they can archive it. Before archiving it the user should ensure there is no closing stock value linked to the stock location. They will be prevented from archiving it if there is still a closing stock value and will therefore need to record a zero value stock take first.
Assumptions
The client is using detailed stocktaking.
The user has Set Up permissions
Where to find this
Within an outlet, click Stocktaking > Stocktakes
Click Add to start a detailed Stocktake
Step-by-step guide
- In the correct week, click Add to add a Detailed Stocktake
- Select the correct Stock Location and date within the chosen week and click Continue
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update Stocktake
- See that a zero value stocktake has been saved
- To archive the stock location, go to Set Up
- Select the correct department and click Continue
- Fine the relevant stock location and click on the Archive button
- You will be asked to confirm you wish to archive it, click OK.
- To see archived stock locations tick the Show Archived Stock Locations box at the top of the page
