Adding an item to a stock sheet during stocktaking

Introduction

Historically, it wasn't possible for a user to add a new product to a stock location during the stocktaking process. We have now improved the stocktaking functionality to enable users to add a new product to a stock location whilst doing their stocktaking.

 

Assumptions

The client is using detailed stocktaking.

 

Where to find this

Within an outlet, click Stocktaking > Stocktakes

Click Add to start a detailed Stocktake

 

Step-by-step guide

  1.  In the correct week, click Add to add a Detailed Stocktake
  2. Select the correct Stock Location and date within the chosen week
  3. Click Continue
  4. There is a new Add button at the top of the page which enables you to add a new item to this stock location
  5. The search tool is the same as the tool used when adding an item to your stock location through the normal Setup process
  6. Once you have selected the new item, a box will appear to enable you to confirm your selection. This will also confirm to you that the item will be added to your stock location as well as this instance of your stock take. Click Add Item to proceed or Cancel to abort.
  7. Once the item has been added, click Back in the top right of the screen
  8. Your newly added item will appear at the bottom of the list of items.
  9. PLEASE NOTE adding a new item will clear any quantities you have entered unless you have saved your stocktake. To add a new item once you have started to record the quantities, click Update Stocktake at the bottom of the page to save your work, then re-open the stocktake by clicking on the date before adding your new item. 
  10. Once you have completed your stocktake, you may wish to amend the order in which the new item appears in the stock location for next time. You would do this in the same way as amending the priority order when setting up a new stock location. See the user guide Setting up a Stock Location
