Income
Within Income, you can enter Cash Sales, Credit Sales, Internal Sales and Swipe Cards.Â
The page will default to Today but you can change the year, week and day. Use the drop down options to change the year and week and click on the day of the week or the Today button on the right to switch between days in the selected week. All fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory fields.
Cash Sales
The Income page enables you to manually enter income transactions and totals as well as view any income data we are receiving from your POS/till.
A cash sale is a sale recorded in your till. It might be a card payment and not cash but it is still considered a cash sale in IndiCater.
Click on the +Add button
Till: Select the relevant Till from the dropdown
Operator: this can be left at N/A, or choose a name listed
Transactions: Take this from your till reading
Till Reading: Enter the value from your till reading
Notes - You can add notes that may be relevant to the transaction
For reporting purposes, you can summarise your sales by Category
For example your 1st category might be Liquor
Department: select the relevant department i.e., Liquor
Category: Beer
Repeat this, by clicking on the + category, until your category totals match the till reading. Click on Add to saveÂ
Swipe Cards -Â entering Swipe Card transactions is the same process as Cash Sales
Credit Sales
The Credit Sales page enable you to manually record a Credit Sale, this is any income from external clients. This action will enable you to raise an invoice for the external client.
Click on the +Add button
Client:Â Select the client from the drop down list
Contact Name: Choose from the dropdown
CRM: If the sale relates to an event and you are using the Events module, select the event name from the drop down (this won't be visible for clients not using events)

As per Cash Sales, you can summarise the sale by Category for reporting purposes by adding multiple categories.
Description: Add the item description. This is displayed on the Credit Sale invoice
Department: Select the relevant department
Category: Select the relevant category
Unit Price: Add the unit price of the item
Quantity: Add the quantity of the item
Notes: Add any notes relevant to the credit sale
Click on SaveÂ
If you need to credit a credit sale, simply create a new credit sales transaction and enter a negative amount. we recommend adding the reference of the invoice you are crediting in the Notes field.
Internal Sales
Internal Sales are used to record any free issue income such as Free School Meals, Adult Free, Breakfast Club and Hospitality.
You can create favourites for entering items you frequently sell:
Click on Internal Sales
Click Configure Favourites
Click Add
Enter the item name and cost, eg Tea, £1.50
Click Save
To enter an Internal Sale:
Click on Internal Sales
Ensure you are in the correct week and on the correct day
Click Add
Reference: Populate the Reference field with the description of the hospitality
Favourites: If using Favourites, select an item from the drop down list. This will auto populate the Description and Unit Price fields
Description: Enter a description if not using FavouritesÂ
Department: Select the DepartmentÂ
Category: Select the Income category that you are recording the sale against
Internal Dept/Notes: Use the Internal Department drop down or Notes to record Internal Department information if using (not compulsory)
Cost Centre/Notes: Use the Cost Centre drop down or Notes to record cost centre information if using (not compulsory)
Unit Price: Enter the unit price of the item (if not pre-populated)
Quantity: Add the total quantity soldÂ
Booked By: Enter the name of the person who requested the hospitality
Click on Save

Why does my week start on the day it does?
When we first set up your company to use IndiCater, we were given a start day of the week by your head office. This is the day your week will always start on in IndiCater.
