Understanding how the data is calculated
When viewing allergen data in the Recipe Manager module, we display the allergen content for the dish as a whole using the allergen information supplied by the suppliers for each individual item.
For example, if suppliers have confirmed that 9 items used in a dish don’t contain eggs, but one item has been tagged as Maybe in the supplier’s catalogue, then the recipe will show as maybe containing eggs in Recipe Manager. Similarly, if the supplier didn’t send allergen information for the 10th item, we would display Information Not Available for eggs in that recipe.
It is therefore very important to understand whether your suppliers are able and willing to send you allergen information for those allergens/dietary factors which they aren’t legally required to send.
If one of your suppliers is unable to send the information, it is not worth the rest of your suppliers sending it as we will be forced to display Information Not Available if there are any blanks in a recipe.
Nuts
If you choose to activate the breakdown of the nuts, we will remove the option for the supplier to submit Other Nuts and they will need to complete the below instead:
Walnuts |
Pistachio |
Pecan Nuts |
Macadamia |
Cashews |
Brazil Nuts |
Almonds |
Tree Nuts |
Peanuts |
Cereals
If you choose to activate the breakdown of the cereals containing gluten, the suppliers will still see the option Cereals Containing Gluten and they will also see the below in addition.
Gluten (Barley) |
Gluten (Wheat) |
Gluten (Rye) |
Gluten(Oats) |
What are the next steps?
Once you have decided that you want to activate additional allergens and/or dietary factors such as Organic, we will provide you with a template email for you to send to your suppliers explaining the changes they will see in their catalogue as well as the date for the changes to go live.
Once the allergens are live, we will conduct some initial testing to ensure that the supplier catalogue reflects the changes and can be downloaded and uploaded by a test supplier. We will also ensure the data can be visible in a test dish in Recipe Manager and on the recipe card PDF and allergens reports.
Assuming the above testing is signed off, we will provide you with an agreement amendment page to add to your contract to ensure both of our records reflect the new activation.
