Version Update - 1st July 2026

We're pleased to share the details of tonight's system update. This release includes important security enhancements to the IndiCater login experience.

Security

Stronger Password Policy

We have updated the password requirements for IndiCater to bring them in line with current security best practice. The new rules apply when you next set or change your password:

  • Passwords must now be at least 12 characters in length.

  • Passwords must include at least one special character (for example: !, @, #, $).

  • The account lockout period following repeated failed login attempts has been extended to 15 minutes.

Your existing password is not affected. You can continue to log in as normal - the new rules will only apply the next time you set or change your password.

Optional Two-Factor Authentication (Email)

We have introduced an optional two-factor authentication (2FA) feature for IndiCater, configurable per organisation. When enabled, users will be prompted to verify their identity via a code sent to their registered email address after entering their password.

  • The feature is off by default and must be enabled by IndiCater.

  • Once enabled, a verification code will be emailed to you each time you log in from an unrecognised device.

  • A Remember this browser option is available, so you won't be prompted again on a trusted device.

If you are interested in enabling two-factor authentication for your organisation, please contact the IndiCater support team.

If you have any questions regarding any of the above, please do not hesitate to contact IndiCater support.
