Introduction
Combo dishes allow you to create recipe for combination ingredients which are used in more than one recipe i.e. Batter Mix, Bolognaise Sauce, Chicken Stock etc
Assumptions
The Combo dish should be assigned in the Combo Ingredients category
Where to find this
To create a Combo Ingredient, add a recipe dish as normal in the recipe manager and assign it to the combo ingredients category from the dropdown. When creating or amending other recipes this combo dish will now be available to add.
Step-by-step guide
When creating a Combo Ingredient you can define it in two different ways:
Option 1 - Portion Quantity
This will allow you to set the number of portions your combo recipe will provide. i.e. if you are creating a recipe for a 2L jug of chicken stock and the portion size that is always used in each dish is 125ml, then you would be creating a 16 portion recipe for chicken stock.
When you add this ‘combo ingredient’ to a dish when building, the system will calculate how much of this recipe is being used and ensure the right cost is added to your main recipe.
Option 2 - Defined by Measurement/ Packsize
...
Step 3. You will now have the option when building a new recipe to select a Combo dish. This option is located under the ingredient search tool.
